Some of the biggest names on the celebrity guest list at Fan
Expo Canada 2007 are going to be no-shows. Heroes stars Zachary Quinto and
Hayden Panettiere and Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin will not be appearing at
this weekend’s event in Toronto. Hayden Christensen of Star Wars fame also
pulled out.
Still scheduled to meet and greet fans are Malcolm
McDowell (Heroes, A Clockwork Orange), Adam West (Batman, Family Guy), Jake
Lloyd (Star Wars: Episode One), Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next
Generation), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Gallactica) and Adrienne Barbeau (Escape
From New York, Maude).
Dozens of other actors, directors and comic book artists will
also attend. Quinto, who has signed on to play Spock in the Star Trek prequel,
will be in Toronto on Aug. 31 for an autograph session in Yonge-Dundas Square
with Heroes co-stars James Kyson Lee, Noah Gray-Cabey and Dania Ramirez.

It's lucky 13 for Fan Expo Canada, the little comic-book
convention that turned into the country's biggest "fanboy" event and
which runs from tomorrow through Sunday at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
These days it encompasses five different events -- the Rue Morgue Festival Of
Fear for horror fans, SFX 2007 (sci-fi), the Comic Book Expo, Anime Expo 2007
and the Canadian National Gaming Expo.
Celebrity guests this year include Adam West, Jonathan Frakes
(Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation), Robert Beltran from Star Trek:
Voyager, Darth Vader "body actor" David Prowse, the Phantom Menace's
Anakin Skywalker Jake Lloyd, Malcolm McDowell, Battlestar Galactica's Tricia
Helfer, Swamp Thing's Adrienne Barbeau, Charisma Carpenter from Buffy the
Vampire Slayer and Angel, and from Heroes, Hayden Panatierre and Zachary Quinto
(who was recently announced as landing the role of Spock in the new Star Trek
