Twilight stars to attend city expo
By Lisa Wilton, Calgary Sun 3/12/10

Well, only two of them, but that should be enough to elicit shrieks of delight from Calgary Twilight fans.
Alex Meraz and Tyson Houseman - who appeared as part of the wolf pack in last year's hit movie, New Moon - will be among the guests at the 2010 Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, it was announced Friday. The event runs April 24 and 25 at the BMO Centre on the Stampede Grounds. Houseman and Meraz will also be joined by Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in both Twilight films.
"We always knew we wanted to bring in the Twilight guys," says Expo founder and organizer Kandrix Foong. "It was just a matter of timing and working out the contracts, stuff like that." Foong says special 'Twilight Packages' will be available for fans and will include a choice of either a Team Vampire or Team Werewolf t-shirt. The Twilight trio are the latest celebs to be added to the Expo's already impressive line up, which includes Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy, Star Wars actor Billy Dee Williams and A Clockwork Orange star Malcolm McDowell. In addition to his panel discussion and autograph session, McDowell will introduce a screening of the cult film - which is coming up on its 40th anniversary - at the Plaza Theatre in Kensington on April 23. Now in its fourth year, the Comic & Entertainment Expo will take over two rooms at the BMO Centre, doubling its size to 100,000 sq. ft. "We've almost tripled our advance sales from last year," says Foong. "What is nice is that there are a lot of people coming from outside of the Calgary region...because how often are you really going to get to meet Leonard Nimoy?"
